From front to back and from top to bottom, the story of Christmas is a story of amazing, outrageous, extravagent generosity. On Christmas, we're reminded that God gave the most precious gift ever, the gift of his son. We, in turn, have the oppportunity to be outrageously generous with others.

Life comes crashing down on us sometimes. Demands from every direction. Deadlines approaching. Family obligations. Overbearing bosses. Maxxed schedules. Not many of us have learned how to intentionally leave space in our lives - margin - so life doesn't crush us under its weight. Is there a different way to approach life so we can get it all done and leave room for the unexpected.

Sometimes, God says, "Go!" Sometimes, he says, "Wait." Sometimes, he says, "Stop!" Wise people are the ones who have learned to obey the signals he gives.

God's love is unstoppable. How can we experience that type of love in our homes, in our marriages, as we parent? We can do so by allowing him to live in and through us.

"Come," Jesus says, "and I will show you how to fish for people." God's call for all of us is to put in a line and fish for the people around us.
