2027 Elder Candidates

November 8, 2026

Annual Meeting

At the annual congregation meeting on December 6, 2026, we will affirm the upcoming Elder Nominees, Chris Bombei and Jeff Leath. All members of Kingsway Christian Church are eligible to participate in this meeting and will be asked to cast a vote to affirm Chris and Jeff for Eldership beginning January 1, 2027.

Meet Chris Bombei

Chris has been part of Kingsway Christian Church for about 15 years. You may have seen him greeting on Sunday mornings. He also serves in a few roles on the Care Team and considers it an honor to serve the church in any way he can.

Chris grew up in a Christian home and earned a computer science degree from Taylor University. He started his career at PSI Energy (now Duke Energy), then joined a startup consulting firm. From there, he was blessed to own a company for 25 years that sells software to utility companies across the country.

He also coached high school football for almost 30 years at Monrovia, South Putnam, Mooresville, and, most recently, Avon High School. He says the young men he coached made him a better man along the way.

Chris and his wife, Michelle, have two married daughters. Maddie and her husband, Chas, live in Fishers with their son, Beau, who is Chris and Michelle’s first grandchild. They attend Traders Point. Emily and her husband, Jamis, recently moved to Avon and attend Kingsway. Michelle retired in 2026 after 32 years of teaching elementary school.

Meet Jeff Leath

Jeff has been part of Kingsway Christian Church since 2010 and became a member shortly after. He leads the Unshackled men’s group and especially enjoys helping others grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Jeff was baptized in 2003. After raising his two children as a single dad, he met his wife, Joy, at Kingsway. They have been married for nearly 10 years and love spending time with their five adult children and six grandchildren.

Jeff is in his 38th year of teaching, a career that has allowed him to invest in the lives of students. He is passionate about sharing his faith, teaching the truths of Scripture, and passing along the lessons God has taught him along the way.

He is also the founder and executive director of Nehemiah Ranch, a nonprofit ministry that serves the community and shares the love of Christ. He is grateful for the opportunities God keeps giving him to serve Christ and others.

Elder Candidates undergo a vetting process over several months with the current Elder Board, which includes our Lead Pastor, as outlined in our church's By-Laws. If you have any questions about the process or the nominee, please send an email to our Elders at .
