When Jesus interacts with men and women on the pages of the Gospels, he opens people’s eyes. On occasions, he does this literally. He gives sight to the blind. Other times, this happens figuratively. People come into contact with the Savior and walk away understanding God’s will with HD clarity. Others, well, they choose not to see; they stay tied to their comfortable analog perspective, refusing to see the bigger picture Jesus presents to them. 

Jesus opens people’s eyes to God and his HD plans for his people.

During the Living in HD series, we will search the pages of the Gospels to more clearly see Jesus’ desire to help us live with the HD perspective he provides.

What do you do when you face insurmountable odds, when you have to go against the crowd or when you're afraid to fail? 

As a Christian, you have to be Just Brave Enough. You have to have courage.

What is courage? It's being just brave enough to do what you ought to do, even when you're afraid.

In Joshua 1:9, God tells Joshua, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

During this Big Idea Series, everyone at Kingsway will be discussing the same stories from the life of Joshua. 

"The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command," (Hebrews 1:3).

Have you ever considered turning away from Jesus because the temptation and persecution you face are so intense? For those who follow Jesus, there is nowhere else to turn and nowhere else to run. He is greater than our trials. He's greater than our pain. He is greater than anything to which we might run.

If Jesus is God, then he is the only one to whom we can turn. He is more than capable of carrying us through whatever we face.

What is faith? Faith is trusting in what you can't see because of what you know.

In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible says, "Faith means being sure of the things we hope for. And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it."

We will look at the life of a man named Elisha. He did amazing things, awesome acts that qualify him as one of the heroes of our faith. We might be tempted to think that we could never be like Elisha. After all, we're not superheroes. But, neither was he. He was just like us. So, what set him apart? Faith.

During this Big Idea Series, everyone at Kingsway - kids, students and adults - will  focus on the same stories from Elisha's life and we will all learn the same lessons about faith. The series kicks off on October 6 with Family Central Sunday.

Following the outline of Timothy Keller's book, The Meaning of Marriage, we will examine marriage through numerous Scriptures passages. We want every single and married person at Kingsway to have a healthy, godly perspective on marriage as a whole.

We will work to save marriages that are broken, equip singles who are considering marriage, strengthen healthy marriages, encourage singles who don't want to be married, and help men and women understand their unique roles.

Through it all, we want to be a gathering of Christians who support one another in love.

Self control is choosing to do what you should do, not what you want to do.

I want that bowl of ice cream but I should probably take a walk. I want to buy the newest game console but I should probably save a few dollars for a rainy day. I want to shade the truth to make myself look better but I'd better be honest.

None of us have mastered self control. But, we can all take steps to follow Jesus more closely when it comes to what we choose to do and not to do.

Throughout this Big Idea Series, which kicks off with Family Central Sunday, we're going to take at look at the biblical theme of self control. We will look through the lens of Joseph's story in the book of Genesis. We'll be following the outline of his story and making some big applications from his life to our own.
