Women's Retreat

September 26 and 27, 2008
Brown County State Park - Abe Martin Lodge

Do you have an agenda, a purpose, and you're on a mission everywhere you go? Are you open to the needs of those around you? Do you welcome interruption and think of it as an opportunity to serve, or do you just get frustrated? Join us as we study what the Lord would have us to do. Hebrews 13:2 tells us, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it."

Please mark you calendars now and don't miss this wonderful event where our speaker Julie Gariss will touch your heart and challenge you to step out in faith. Julie is a gifted speaker, who blesses audiences across the country. When she dons the clothes and persona of her alter ego, Gladys Frump, the transformation is remarkable (and often hysterical).

Registration has ended, but rooms are still available by contacting . Final payments can by made at the women's ministry kiosk the weekend of August 16 - 17.  Cost is $70 for a room with four guests or $73 for a cabin with six guests. This includes dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday morning. The retreat begins with registration on Friday, September 26, at 4 p.m. and concludes Saturday, September 27, at 12:30 p.m.

Julie GarissJulie Gariss comes from Joplin, Missouri where she and her husband, Randy, have worked with the College Heights Christian Church for the last twenty-five years.  Randy is the preaching minister and Julie stays involved with the congregation teaching women's Bible studies, Sunday School and working on the women's ministry team.  Randy and Julie also are involved in the missions work of their church and have traveled extensively to overseas mission points for teaching, counseling and encouraging.

Julie has a passion for teaching the Word of God and it is this calling that has taken her all over the United States speaking at women's retreats, conventions and banquets.  She has spoken at both the North American Christian Convention and the National Missionary Convention.  Julie genuinely enjoys introducing her audiences to one of her favorite characters, Gladys Frump, who somehow manages to say what needs to be said in a rather "entertaining" manner!

Randy and Julie still feel their greatest accomplishment in life has been in the raising of three wonderful Christian children - Troy, Katie and Megan. And the joy of their lives now?  Grandparenting!
