Second, I was also the one whose employer has been pushing to do unethical things and I asked for clarity to know what to do. Well, he provided that clarity. I spoke with my previous employer and we are really close to agreeing on my return as his Operations Manager!! Not only is this a great opportunity but since I worked there he has surrendered his life to Christ and wants to turn the business into a ministry where our faith is clearly displayed in everything we do! Judi went to mass Sunday morning and told the priest and people in the congregation to pray for a lung for today. My two sisters and I went to visit John the last time before we had to fly home, we said our goodbye's and as I turned to leave I told his nurse that John is getting his lung today and she looked at me like "what?" and "am I missing something?" Then I explained about the prayer. Judi said we were really hoping it would be today, I told her the day is not over yet. Well, we left and was about one hour from the hospital and John called (we had him on speaker)and said I've got good news "THEY TOLD ME I HAVE A LUNG" we were screaming and crying and praising the awesomness of God, it was also mixed with sadness for the family of the young man who passed away so that John could live. She has lung cancer that has spread to her brain. She is only 39 and has two kids still in high school. She is at Manor Health Care out by Prestwick in Avon. She went to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Chicago at the first of the year and they basically told her the same things the doctors here did, which is there is nothing more they can do. They may be able to keep the tumors from growing, but there is no getting rid of them. So they will just keep her as comfortable as possible. The tumors are affecting her cognition greatly, and she gets around by electric scooter when at home. I think she could use some cheering up if folks are able to get over to see her. They did all the tests and could not figure out what it was. After about two weeks they diagnosed it as Serum Sickness which is an allergic reaction to penicillin. She had a rocky relationship with her mom until 2-years ago when her mom was diagnosed with cancer. When this happened they drew close and have spent the past couple of years mending their relationship, but now the cancer is getting worse and it looks like this is the beginning of the end. Stephanie is in her early 30's and has a few kids of her own, so dealing with losing a parent at this age and trying to help her kids through the loss of their grandmother is tough. She has grown closer to Christ through all of this, but she is mentally and physically exhausted. Please pray for as much peace and comfort for the mom as possible during her final days. I went into Hendricks ER Sunday feeling symptoms of heart issues, really not sure what was going on. I had an abnormal EKG the prior Thursday, and it was very concerning to me. They ended up admitting me on Sunday, and I had a heart cath yesterday. Praise God that they found no blocked arteries and I got a clean bill of health for my heart. I am still having some health issues that I'm not sure of the cause, so I would covet your prayers for finding answers to those problems. He has had several "bump"s reappear as of late and was to start back on oral chemo, however his cancer doctor ordered an MRI and CSCAN yesterday and Terry called this afternoon to let us know that they found some "bumps" on his brain and liver. He is to see another cancer doctor Friday and they will most likely start radiation on the brain one's first and deal with the liver later they said. I talked with them this evening and Terry was quite shaken but Bob was putting on his usual upbeat front. After making the purchase his vision grew to planting a pumpkin patch and giving them away in the fall to families in need, hosting a live nativity scene around Christmas, and facilitating other events that help share the gospel and show Christ's love. The only way he could afford to do all of this was for him and his children to move out of their existing home so they could rent it out, and then move into this small farm house while trying to renovate it. Needless to say, the amount of faith someone would need in order to make a major move like this is HUGE! Today I received an email from him stating that the tenant in their original home has suddenly decided to move out. This puts him and his family under a heavy financial strain if he doesn't find a new tenant in the near future. With that said, please pray for him. Pray for the Lord to provide a new tenant to relieve this pressure. And pray that if that is not the Lord's will, that he receive wisdom to make the right decision and strength to carry it out. Thank you so much for all your prayers over the past week. My sister, Polly Laird is healing remarkably well. There was extensive damage done during her recent labor and delivery and she will be needing to see a specialist to recover full function. Having said that, she exceeded the doctors greatest hopes. She was told she would need to go home on heavy narcotics to ease her pain and her pain was controlled with Ibuprofen, tylenol and homeopathic remedies. She is on the way to a full recovery and I have every confidence in this. Thank you to the all the people praying for her from my Sunday Morning Life group as well as here online. For my mom, I have surrendered all of the circumstances surrounding her needing to leave rather to fulfill her commitment to being there for my sister for two weeks of recovery. She left having never held her newest grandchild and very angry at my sister and then me. There are no words or deeds I could EVER say or do that could punish her more than simply missing what she missed. She is spiritually and emotionally unwell and my prayer is for complete healing and self reconciliation. She has nothing to apologize to me for and I'm free to love her even when she's being pretty unlovable at the moment in the name of Jesus who loves us all out of our dark places, private or public. Incredible seeds were planted this past week in the name of our Lord and every Bible Study I did, every verse sent to me and every prayer and meditation time I did, gave me renewed strength and ability to just love the hurting people around me without falling into (many) pits of despair. Since He's been hospitalized he's gone into cardiac arrest several times. I am sharing the facebook message that was recently posted by his wife. Please keep Steven and his wife Emily and their family as well as the medical staff in prayer. Steve Jensen suffered a massive heart attack on February 10th. He was hospitalized for a week, got a stent, and came home for the weekend. He had to return to the hospital after a few days with breathing problems. As he was being discharged, the head cardiologist ordered a chest xray and had him stay another night due to fluid in his lungs. The next day (yesterday), he had more breathing problems, so a balloon procedure was done. He suffered cardiac arrest several more times yesterday, but the *AMAZING* team of doctors and nurses were able to bring him back each time. He had an additional procedure done last night called a tandem mechanical heart that is temporary to allow his heart to rest. His heart has already built up some of its own strength and he's definitely headed in the right direction toward recovery. He is likely to have a permanent Ventricular Assist Device implanted in the next week or two, depending on his rate of recovery in the meantime. PLEASE keep all of us and ESPECIALLY him in your prayers and thoughts. Zoe and I are doing well, as are the triplets, and we are getting a lot of support. Pray for Jerry a sweet Christian man. Due to a trauma he received 30 yrs ago while serving our country he is now having horrible back pain.
