Life Group Leader Resources

Small groups are a critical part of life at Kingsway. Small group leaders are responsible for providing their group with shepherding, vision, direction and support consistent with Kingsway's Core 4 elements: Worship, Grow, Serve and Share. Our leaders are some of the most strategic people in the church for they help people become fully connected. It is an incredible privilege and an awesome responsibility. It's wonderful to watch our church build authentic, life changing relationships.

So you lead a Life group? But you're wondering, "What do I do? What will I teach? Will the group even listen to me? Can I really do this?"

The good news is you don't have to be a Bible scholar or leadership expert to provide some basic guidance to a small group! The basic tasks of leadership are simple: Pray, Prepare, Guide, and Care.

If you have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ, if you are as comfortable listening as talking, and if you know how to help people relax and enjoy each other, you can lead a group.

Kingsway will provide you with the resources necessary to lead a dynamic and spiriutally health small group. Kingsway provides a structure to guide you through implementing the five purposes in your planning process. Kingsway will also provide you with intial and on-going training to help you develop your leadership skills.

The Life group leader expectations are:

1)  The Life group leader must be a participating member of Kingsway Christian Church.
2)  The Life group leader must demonstrate a consistent and growing daily walk with God.
3)  The Life group leader must affirm Kingsway's statement of faith and leadership standards.
4)  The Life group leader must possess a desire and ability to shepherd group members by
     monitoring their spiritual health and facilitating group meetings.
5)  The Life group leader must be willing to update group data, semester planners and
     semester evaluations in conjunction with the Discipleship Pastor.
6)  The Life group leader must show a willingness to participate in regular leadership and
     small group training.
