How do I become a member at Kingsway? The only requirement for membership at Kingsway is that you have a personal relationship with Jesus and that you have celebrated that relationship by means of baptism by immersion. Click here to view a baptism study guide. We encourage you to attend Kingsway’s Discovery Series classes, specifically Discover: Kingsway and Discover: Belonging, or contact a pastor (contact us) to learn more about membership. What is baptism and how is it conducted during a worship service?Baptism is a visible expression of an inward decision to follow Christ.
Baptism does not earn salvation. It's simply God's way of allowing us to show that we believe in what Jesus did for us on the cross and that we're trusting in Him alone to save us from the penalty of our sins.
Baptism by immersion illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection, and it identifies us as having received a new life. Each weekend worship service at Kingsway is concluded with an invitation to become a Christ-follower. If you come forward during this time, a pastor will introduce you to a decision counselor who will talk to you about your decision (to become a Christ follower and/or be baptized). If you are ready, you will be immersed at the conclusion of the service; robes, towels and changing rooms are always ready. Or, if you prefer, you can set a future date to be immersed. What happens during communion in a worship service? The Lord’s Supper (communion) is the memorial Jesus gave to remind us of the price He paid – He gave His life - for our sins. All Christians are invited to eat the bread and drink the juice after quiet meditation. What happens during offering time in a worship service? As Christians, we give an offering out of love to support God’s work through Kingsway. Visitors should not feel obligated to give. We hope they receive something from being at Kingsway. How does Kingsway support missionaries? One of our core elements in guiding our spiritual life and helping us to follow Jesus together as a church family is to share our faith and resources with others. Kingsway has a long tradition of reaching out by providing aid, supporting missionaries, and sending work groups to help people and places in need. Nearly 20 percent of Kingsway’s offerings are directed to this work.
