Elders

Kingsway's elders provide spiritual oversight and encouragement to the many leaders on staff. In addition, they provide care for the many members of the church.

The Administrative Elders Council (AEC) provides direction and leadership for the staff and congregation. The Shepherding Elders Council (SEC) is concerned for the spiritual health of Kingsway members.

Executive Pastor

Read Bio

Jeff Lewellyn

Jeff joined the Kingsway staff in 1991. He is our Executive Pastor.

Born: March 2, 1957, in Indianapolis
Family: Married to Gayle and dad to Ryan and Katelyn
Favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 40:25-31; Romans 8:31-39; Philippians 2:1-11
Alma Mater: Cincinnati Christian University, Xavier University
Favorite musicians: Straight No Chaser, Chris Tomlin, The Eagles; Classical
Favorite movies/TV shows: The Mission, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, Everybody Loves Raymond
Worst habit: I have to start each day with a Diet Coke (fountain - no cans or bottles) usually from McDonald's drive thru.
Confession: I know all the McDonald's drive-thru workers by name.
Favorite food: bd's Mongolian Barbeque or a beef burger with Swiss and a side of macaroni and cheese from Shapiro's
Favorite memories: My wedding day. Nearly passing out in the delivery room when Katelyn was born. And a walk I took with my grandpa when I was a kid during which I first shared my desire to become a minister.
My hero(es): The only one to ever give his life for me - Jesus; my maternal grandfather; PV John
My greatest love: Jesus and Gayle. Both love me in spite of me.
If I could have any super power I'd ... have the energy of a child, the body of a young adult, and the wisdom and experience of a senior adult - all at the same time.
If I could travel back in time I'd ... walk with Jesus; witness the signing of the Declaration of Independance; watch the fall of the Berlin wall.
I'd rather be ... traveling just about anywhere, walking on the beach; working in my yard.
My bucket list: (1) Visit every country in Europe. (2) Visit each continent. (3) Skydive. (4) Return to India - this time with my family.

Matt Nickoson

Lead Pastor

Read Bio

Matt Nickoson

Matt answered the call to be Kingsway's lead pastor in 2009.

Born: August 19, 1976
Home town: Akron, Ohio
Family: Married to Rachael and dad to Mathias and Levi
Favorite Bible verse: Luke 23:31 and all of John 15
Alma Mater: Cincinnati Christian University
Favorite musicians: Whatever is in my playlist
Favorite movies/TV shows: LOST, The Office
Worst habit: I chew on anything and everything: pen caps, bubble gum, paper, candy, ice ... pretty much anything I can fit in my mouth.
Confession: I am so tempted to be not like Jesus when I am in the car. I get really irritated with slow drivers. The left lane is for fast people, the right lane for slow. Get over already!
Favorite food: Spaghetti, because Mathias loves it too and we get to share.
Favorite memory: The first time I came home from work and Mathias heard my voice he threw his toy to the ground and came running over to me yelling "Daaa-eee, Daaa-eee" with his arms up in the air to hug me.
My hero(es): My wife. She is a constant source of encouragement, strength, and support. She has stuck with me through some pretty crazy stuff. She's given birth to a baby (enough to make every woman a hero as far as I'm concerned). She's not afraid to tell me what I need to hear. She's gentle when I need gentle, but she'll always make sure I know what I need to know.
My greatest love: Jesus. My family. My other great love is Xbox 360, especially games where I get to shoot at things and compete!
If I could have any super power I'd ... fly!
If I could travel back in time I'd ... go back in time to the crucifixion and die with Christ. Then, I'd go back to the moment God starting creating the world. I'd watch, ask a lot of questions and just be amazed.
I'd rather be ... sleeping. I have two young kids who think that night time is play time.
My bucket list: (1) Run a half marathon in two hours or less, and a marathon four-and-a-half hours or less. (2) Skydive. (3) Be alive when Jesus returns.
